SOTTILE WORKS EIGHT STRONG INNINGS IN VICTORY

GREEN BAY, WI – The Dodgers picked up their second straight win on Wednesday night and have now won four of their last five after knocking off the Branch Blaze by a score of 4-1 on Law Enforcement Night at Joannes Stadium.

Starting pitcher Anthony Sottile tossed eight innings of one-run baseball, striking out eight while scattering just five hits, to record his first win of the season. Luke Gajewski came on in relief of Sottile, and worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning to record the save.

After the Blaze plated a run in the top of the third inning, the Dodgers responded with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the frame, when a two-out single by Jake Fietz drove in second baseman Matt Bald and third baseman Jayden Adrains to make the score 2-1.

The Dodgers added a run in the fifth, when Bald scored on an RBI groundout by Adrians, and then tacked on one more insurance run in the bottom of the eighth after Bald doubled to start the inning and then came in to score on a Jacob Lacy single.

The Dodgers would like to thank all of the fans who came out to Joannes Stadium on Wednesday night, and send a special thank you to those law enforcement members in attendance.

The team is off on Thursday, but continue their homestand at Joannes Stadium on Friday night, when the Burlington Barons come to town for a three-game series. Friday night’s game is our second Fish Fry Friday of the season, with coupons for fish fry specials being given out throughout the game. Gates open by 7:00 PM with first pitch scheduled for 8:00 PM.
