A balanced and patient offensive attack by the Sheboygan A’s gave the De Pere Dodgers their second straight loss of the year on Wednesday night, when the host team outplayed De Pere, 7-3.

Sam Forkert got his first action of the season for the D’s, throwing 111 pitches over the course of seven innings. Forkert only allowed one hit, though he walked six and allowed four runs, three of which were earned. Forkert struckout 10 batters.

It was the eighth inning when the A’s offensive poise paid off, getting only one hit off D’s reliever Griffin Summers, but he walked three and a defensive errors allowed Sheboygan to score their final four runs of the game, breaking a tie and ultimately deciding the game.

Bryce Brogni and Travis Slywka had the only A’s hits on the night and each scored a run.

Hunter Staniske was 3-for-4, scoring two runs, for the Dodgers. Summers scored the other run on the night for De Pere, going 1-for-2 with two base on balls.

The Dodgers return to action for a pair of doubleheaders against the Addison Braves in Addison, Ill. beginning this Saturday. First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m. on Saturday evening.
